Healing Hands Wound Care was founded by Valerie Crenshaw, RN, WCC, from a simple but deeply rooted belief: better-supported clinicians provide better care.

 

With nearly two decades of experience in wound care, Valerie has seen firsthand the challenges facing both clinicians and healthcare organizations—from staffing shortages and inconsistent wound care practices to gaps in education, documentation, prevention, and clinical support.

 

Healing Hands initially began by connecting skilled wound care professionals with healthcare facilities that needed them. But as the company grew, so did its mission.

 

Today, Healing Hands Wound Care has evolved into an education, consulting, and clinical solutions company, helping healthcare professionals and organizations strengthen wound care through practical education, clinical program development, workforce solutions, and innovative approaches to longstanding challenges.

 

That commitment to solving real-world clinical problems also led to the development of S.H.A.D.E.S. of Care™, an educational framework designed to improve the identification and assessment of pressure injuries in darker skin tones.

 

From supporting one clinician at the bedside to helping organizations improve entire systems of care, our purpose remains the same:
